TUSSOCK TRAVERSE -28th January 2012
The Tussock Traverse is an annual event for keen trail runners and walkers. Enjoy the scenic alpine environment. The event supports Project Tongariro and the great work they do in conserving this spectacular environment. This year two new courses are included so your can enjoy the 26km course, 6km course or the 13km course. Something for everyone.
KITE DAY - 1st January
What better way to spend New Years day than with the kids both young and old on the Chateau Golf Course flying kites. Bring your own or view the amacing spectical from the New Zealand Kite Fliers Association. Project Tongariro will help out the kids making their very own kite on the day for a small donation.
TONGARIRO ALPINE CROSSING
Project Tongariro have developed an amazing application for your smark phone called the POCKET RANGER down load this app before you venture onto the crossing and enjoy the storied via your Pocket Ranger. You wont need a signal its all on the phone.
THE GOAT ALPINE ADVENTURE RUN - 3rd December 2011
This annual event is an exhilarating adventure run from Whakapapa to Turoa Ski fields on the round the mountan track, 21 km of amazing terrain.
RUAPEHU CYCLE CLASSIC - 10-12th February 2012
Three cycling events to choose from Our favorite is the classic 80km or 160 km around Mt Ruapehu
WAIMARINO RODEO - 17th - 18th March 2012
This annual event is great viewing for the whole family. Events include bare back, bull ride saddle bronc, rope & tie and more.
