Open for lunch and dinner, Pihanga Cafe and T-Bar entices with burgers, salads and Italian pizzas as well as international favourites such as pulled duck tom yum, goat curry and churros. Opening from the Chateau’s streetside, this separate cosy cafe is accessible to hotel guests via the first floor. Indulge your sweet tooth with Tiramisu, and enjoy refreshing New Zealand beer, wine, espresso and smoothies.
Enjoy your favourite tipple in the cosy T-Bar. The mulled wine is a local favourite that goes down a treat in winter.

ALPINE-THEMED TAVERN WITH HEARTY FARE AND POOL TABLE
Tussock dishes out pizza, burgers and classic mountain fare from a tavern and pool room in Whakapapa Village, a short walk from Chateau Tongariro. Relax with an open fireplace, live sports TV and a spacious outdoor deck for soaking up the evening sunset over Mount Ngauruhoe. Evening socialising and dancing make it one of the best Whakapapa bars.
