Our Rooms - Heritage 4 Bed Family Style Mt. Ruapehu Hotel

Bringing the family along is part of the Chateau Tongariro experience, and we often welcome multigenerational gatherings that span decades. Whether it’s your first trip to Chateau Tongariro or a well-established family tradition, we have spacious rooms where you can all stay together.

Our 4-bed family rooms spread across the original historic section of the hotel, accommodating up to 5 people in configurations that include one Queen-sized bed and 3 single beds. Room sizes vary slightly depending on location, but all have a selection of SKY TV channels and high-speed WiFi, making sure that you stay connected and entertained.

Family rooms do not have cooking facilities, but you’ll find pizza, burgers or other kid-friendly food just steps away at our casual Tussock Bar and Restaurant or at Pihanga Cafe. In the evening, you can toast a successful day with drinks in the main hotel’s Pihanga T-Bar or the Ruapehu Lounge. The lounge offers board games for “kids” of all ages to enjoy.
